An unfortunate bio My name is Shannon. I'm 22 and I live in Georgia. I have two cats named Butterscotch and Tinkerbell. I'd describe my personality/style as simplistic, with a dash of eccentricity and eclecticism. I can be pretty girly at times. Shopping for make-up, clothes, shoes, purses, and other various accessories is definitely a necessary vice for me (almost up there with books). In fact, if I could own all of either Veronica Mars' or Blair Waldorf's clothes, I'd cry with happiness. I think cans of soda taste better when you drink out of them with straws, and I only buy honey if it comes in the plastic bear. My favorite animals are wolves, cats, foxes, owls, zebras, polar bears, Little Bears, and Ruperts. My favorite things to eat are grilled chicken quesadillas, roast beef and cheese sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, pizza, ice cream from Baskin Robbins, snickerdoodles, and I'm a big fan of vanilla cupcakes. When I'm thirsty, I like drinking Vanilla Coke (Coke pwns Pepsi, btw), Horizon chocolate milk, Tropicana orange juice, Odwalla fruit juice, and good old-fashioned H20. I have an affinity for writing and drawing, so I am in possession of a substantial collection of ink pens, sharpies, pencils, blank notebooks, and sketchbooks. I own a plethora of stuffed animals and plushies that I'm never getting rid of. I love television and movies. I love anime, manga, Hayao Miyazaki films, comics, and graphic novels. I obsess over anything Sanrio (or Japanese-cute in general) or Disney-related. I love YouTube. I love the vlogbrothers and all things nerdfighter (DFTBA). I love the macabre, weird, and cute little dead things. I enjoy naming inanimate objects. I like cooking (especially baking; I love baking biscuits), although I'm not too sure if I'm very good at it...? I think I am, but I'm still kind of learning how to be Rachel Ray with all her stovetop geniuz. I've got the basics down, though, and I can make a mean grilled cheese sandwich, very awesome homemade mac and cheese... and I can manage to never burn my frozen pizza. ;) Anyway, it's really fun and very stress-relieving. I smile when driving with the windows down on cold, winter nights singing at the top of my lungs. I smile when I see the color aqua because it reminds me of the ocean and mermaids. I always sit outside on my front porch on a snowy night listening to the silence. October, November, and December are the best time of year. I can't breathe without music. Concerts are an addiction. The band My Chemical Romance has become a lifetime devotion. I can't breathe without books. Stories about vampires, werewolves, ghosts, scary faeries, mermaids, witches, wizards, aliens, and paranormal love affairs are my guilty pleasures. I definitely admit to being a major compulsive book-buyer (*coughs* even if I don't read them right away). Do not let me near a bookstore if you ever have the chance to shop with me unless you want to spend the rest of the shopping trip in said bookstore. Imagination is a must if you want to be friends with me. What will you find in my journal? My fandoms, real-life, books (especially paranormal YA), My Chemical Romance and other assorted music I love, movies, pictures I've taken, pictures I've ganked from other websites, and geekery like comics and anime and manga. My entries range in length from novel-sized to tiny haikus. I fangirl with the best of them, meaning I know how to make fonts bigger and I like to excessively use exclamation points because we're kind of BFFs, the exclamation mark and I. I curse. Not as hardcore as I used to, but still. I don't really care too much about politics and you won't find me discussing what our president did this week ad nauseam. I read the news just enough to keep myself well-informed, and I only post about it if something has provoked me enough. I do have my opinions about certain issues, but I think it's enough to say I'm very open-minded about stuff. I don't care what religion you practice as long as you don't make it a habit of forcing it on other people. I'm mostly agnostic, but what I'd like to call "religiously curious". I do not like drama-whores. I had enough of that in high school, and I'm sad that I still encounter them in daily life. I avoid drama like the plague, except when I watch it on TV. Because then it's so much funnier/better when it's Blair Waldorf dishing it out. |
