Holding a musket and staring down danger
Do you like the holidays? Do you like exchanging and receiving holiday greeting cards in the mail from your friends here on LiveJournal? Then, guess what, guess what?! This post is for you!

If you'd like a holiday greeting card from me this year, please comment with your address exactly as it appears on an envelope. The comments are screened, however if you feel more comfortable emailing it to me, please feel free to do so: ivorydeer@gmail.com. I do live in the US, so if you're overseas, it would be helpful to know how many stamps I should be sticking on my envelope when I'm sending something to you. (I don't deny to be completely clueless about this crap.)

If you want my address to send me one in return, or you've written a similar post, please comment and I'll either email you my address or comment with it on your post!

I've never ended up having to filter my holiday cards post every year I've done them by default, and as it turned out, not many people commented anyway, so I'm not doing it again this year. BUT I do have close to 70 on my flist and in the unlikely situation that everyone ends up wanting one this year, I'm sorry to say I won't be able to get to you all and will inevitably just do what I did for Halloween. *coughs* PICK MY FAVORITES *coughs* *coughs* *cough*

I feel like such a lame-o for not coming up with this sooner, but I decided to BAKE STUFF for my friends and some family members (who I know will actually consume the horrors that are cookies, brownies, and cupcakes). For some reason, my mom doesn't really consider buying ingredients to bake gifts for friends the same as me asking her to buy books and stuff for them. *shrugs* I'LL TAKE IT! :D So, that's what I'm doing. Baking stuff. My friend Kim gave me the idea, because she said she's going to be knitting something for me, lol. Since she basically gave away the surprise, I just went ahead and asked what type of baked goodness she enjoyed eating the most. I'm making her some cupcakes and snickerdoodles, because I don't care if you hate snickerdoodles, I BAKE, YOU GET SNICKERDOODLES.

Considering it's been eons since I've done one of these -- I think I skipped 2008 and just sent cards to who I wanted -- I decided to go back and find a holiday cards entry to copy and paste. Of course, doing this caused me to stop and read some old entries of mine. I was blindly skipping +100 entries, trying to find ones near December... lo and behold, the ones I come across? All Twilight-related. XD It's hilarious to go back and see how, not just obsessed I was, but overtly so. And the people that commented? OMG, I miss the occasional spam-posts I got (namely from [info]natacha92, [info]fadedpresence, and I think [info]annemaris, you were in there a little bit too). It was fun, guiz, it was. :')

But this one post actually made me LOL: ENJOY!

In other new, rejoice! For the band Sea Wolf has finally overtaken Alexz Johnson on my Lastfm account's main page. (Rofl, the last time I listened to her was, liek, 2006, I think.) It makes me happy, though, because I've loved Sea Wolf for a while and they SHOULD be up there next to Death Cab for Cutie and MCR on Lastfm. ;P

Ugh, I hate it when I know I had something else to say, and now I can't remember what it was.

BYEBYEBYEBYEBYEBYEBYEEEEEEEEHHHGGNOG

ETA: Sheer brilliance! I thought of another gift idea since I'm short on cashola~ this year. I'm going to make you all mixed CDs and send them along with your cards. I've got to get the go ahead from my mom, but I don't see why she'll have any problem with this. So, just comment if you want one when you leave me your address.

First time in a while I've watched Jimmy Fallon, and it was awesome. Blake Lively was adorable.

(Does it say some bad about me that I crack up at Jimmy getting smacked in every scene?)

I. LOVE. THEM.

It's such a simple music video, but I love how they both go into overly explicit detail. Does this not remind you of That 70's Show when they're doing those scene transitions? And the song took a little listening to, but IIIIII like it.

I want to marry Damian Kulash, btw.

I HOPE SOMEONE WATCHES THIS SHOW

Medium )

I'M SO HAPPY ABOUT WHO'S IN THE ANTM FINALE. *_*

Project Runway )

And, d'awwwww, Eastwick was canceled. :( It was such a fun show to watch. I'm sad. As was Hank, but as I said on Twitter, I'm not surprised. I'm crossing my fingers for Mercy, but I doubt it will make it either. Shame because it's really not a terrible show, imo. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE HOT COP GUY. D:

Btw, as sad as this may sound, I am sekritly enjoying old Roseanne reruns on Nick at Night. It's honestly not bad. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. Someone on Amazon equate Roseanne to eating their favorite comfort food. I agree. And, plus, seeing Johnny Galecki and Sara Gilbert together is pretty hilarious. Also, my new obsession is Seinfeld. Why have I never watched this show? It's STUPENDOUS AND AMAZING AND IT NEEDS TO ALWAYS BE IN MY LIFE. One of my favorite scenes so far: click!

I informed all of Twitter-land that this guy is my new boyfriend: HEY NEW BOYFRIEND

Does anyone know what this song is? I tried to Google the lyrics, but it won't come up. Such an awesome HP fanvid, btw.

And I realized horribly yesterday that I never did say thank you to everyone who commented on my second to last post. You all are wonderful and I'm thankful to have such a kind flist. ♥

OMG NEW MOON THIS WEEK. AND IHOP MOZZARELLA STICKS. YES. Hard to decided which I'm more excited for.

I didn't get to say this because I was traveling all morning and then spending time with my aunt and uncle:

HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEEENNN!!!!

I handed out all the candy at my aunt and uncle's house, lol. We had a nice dinner afterward. It wasn't a very traditional Halloween for me because I like watching scary stuff while eating junk food all night and just reveling in the splendidly spooky Halloween atmosphere, but my uncle had it on sports channels all night and my aunt, who isn't big on Halloween, didn't make much of an effort to get into the spirit of it all. Still, I enjoy being here visiting. :)

I apologize for not being around so much this week, but I really have been busy. My eye finally did heal itself, btw. :) It was just red from lack of sleep/staring at a computer for too long. No pink eye or nothin'. But I haven't had a lot of sleep this week, nor have I had time to really sit down and plan out a few things for NaNoWriMo, so blogging has been low on my priority list lately. Last night, I don't think I slept a wink. Maybe less than an hour, but that's it. I always get anxious when I'm going out of town on a plane. I'm not so much a nervous flyer as I am a real worrywart about getting catching my flight on time and surviving the general whirlwind affect airports have on a person. So, right now I'm about ready to keel over, even with the two hour nap I took this afternoon.

And with NaNo, I've got a basic idea of what I'm doing, but I need to write out some character descriptions and figure out how to start the story. So I'm taking the time to do that before I hit the hay. I just really want to concentrate on getting ahead while I can, so don't be surprised if I take long breaks in between blogging. If I find my story taking off and it becomes easier to write, I will most likely be back to blogging regularly like I was a week or so ago.

Btw, I'm in Texas, so right now it's 12:30 am my time, but 11:30 pm Texas time. I'm so torn about whether it's cheating to go ahead and start writing NaNo. Plus, daylight savings, lol. So technically it's about 10:30 pm Texas time, 11:30 pm my time. What to do, what to do. XD;

I will most likely try Dailyboothing some this week, so I'll link to any pictures I take on Twitter and here as well. Or I will walk around with my laptop taking footage. This house is unbelievable. HGTV status. No lie, I would live here forever if I could.

Oh, and:

OMGGGG HAPPY NANOWRIMO!!!!!!!!

Ugh, hopefully this isn't too TMI for you guys, but I stayed up late working on something on the computer a couple nights ago and now my right eye is REALLY red and it hurts. D: So I've been trying not be on the computer very often to give it time to heal. I also got some eye drops, so it hopefully won't stay like this for too long.

It's probably just as well because I'm going to be pretty busy this week and the computer is too much temptation. I leave to go to San Antonio on Saturday until next Wednesday (visiting my aunt and uncle) and I'm running around doing last minute things. Going to pick up some stuff from the store tomorrow, namely some 3 oz. bottles for my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash considering it's been eons since I've stepped foot on a plane and they now have those silly "bottle rules" in place. Also getting my hair cut and driving to my grandparents' house to borrow a suitcase -- I have the worst luck with mine. They're always ripping or losing wheels. Then I'm continuing on working on cleaning up my room for when I get back next week because of NaNoWriMo. I need to not look around and see a mess everywhere in order to concentrate on writing. And just the general mayhem of packing and deciding what to take, etc. I'm going for actually being packed and ready by early Friday afternoon, if that's at all possible. Seriously, never travel with me. I'm dreadful when it comes to picking things out to bring with me. You'd think I was traveling to the Himalayas for a year, I take so much crap, but I think that's mostly because I wait until the last minute to decide, lol.

I will try to update later this week when I have a better handle on everything, haha.

You know, I think Target has the best commercials. They always manage to choose really great songs and I never find myself getting tired of them when they air constantly. The ads themselves never annoy me. Sometimes I'll even go back and watch them after I've paused my TV to go do something for a few minutes and come back and am able to skip commercials.

The commercials I wish would diaf are those stupid Old Navy mannequin commercials. I miss when it was Christmas and they had Ingrid Michaelson playing in the background.

Like I don't have enough things I update on the internet, I decided to create another journal to help keep track of my progress during NaNoWriMo: [info]lostfur.

It's not just going to be word count updates. I will use it for general updates about the story I'm writing. Brainstorming. Stuff like that. Even if you're not participating in NaNoWriMo, you're welcome to follow me! :D (There's not a whole lot there yet, but SOOOOOONNN. SOOOOOONN.)

I gotta tell you, I was so tempted to switch to that new username, not even lying. But I resisted the urge. I still love this username too much and I've been here so long. :[ *pets [info]graveyardghosts*

And even though I was the one who stalked found you guys first, I would like to welcome [info]airdate (hello, again!) and [info]valiant to my friends list! ♥

ALSO, HOW AMAZING WAS THE BIG BANG THEORY TONIGHT?!?!

I'll probably update about tonight's TV tomorrow when my eyes aren't so dead from coding that other layout.

Yep, the Where the Wild Things Are OST is still playing on iTunes. *sighs*
